How long have you lived in the North State? 12 years. We spent several summers camping near Mt. Shasta when I was young. Three of my four children were born in Shasta and Tehama county.

What do you enjoy most about living in the North State?
We are surrounded by epic natural beauty and recreation opportunities while able to access modern-city conveniences without excessive congestion.

If you could give your younger self one piece of financial advice, what would it be?
Pay yourself first. Put any small amount of money into an interest bearing or investment account every month. A 20-year-old’s savings has the most growth potential of all, yet young people are least likely to put funds away for tomorrow.

If you could time travel, would you go to the past or the future, and why?
The past. I am fascinated by life before plastic and automobiles. I’d want to come back, though; it’s pretty interesting right now.

If you had to eat one meal on repeat for a month, what would it be?
Enchiladas.

What’s your go-to karaoke song?
“Should’ve Been a Cowboy”

If you could have dinner with any three people, past or present, who would you invite?
Socrates, Robin Williams and Bob Marley

If your life were a movie, what genre would it be?
A fun, historic epic, like “Legends of the Fall” meets “Forrest Gump.”

If you could master any hobby overnight, what would you choose?
Woodworking.

What’s your hidden talent or something people would be surprised you can do?
I have a knack for foreign languages, and I should have been an actor.
