Unwrapping What Matters
Finding Joy in Moments, Not Things…
Some gifts don’t fit in boxes.
They don’t need ribbons or tags or a last-minute dash to the store. They come quietly — in the moments we almost overlook.
It’s the sound of laughter in the kitchen, the glow of the tree reflected in a child’s eyes, the way old friends fall back into familiar stories. It’s the hush that settles when the lights are turned low and everyone’s finally home.
This time of year has a way of slowing us down just enough to notice. We remember that joy isn’t found in perfect decorations or long wish lists, but in small exchanges of kindness — a wave to a neighbor, a call to someone who’s been on your heart, an extra plate set out at
the table.
If we’re lucky, we unwrap it one quiet morning when the coffee is warm, the world feels still, and gratitude comes easy. It’s that deep exhale that says, I have enough. This is enough.
So while the stores fill with things we can hold, let’s not forget the ones we can only feel — peace, hope, laughter, love. The kind of gifts that don’t cost a thing but somehow mean everything.
